Human Rights Policy

Riverina Raptors FC respects and supports internationally recognised human rights principles. We believe that sport has a responsibility to uphold the dignity and rights of every person, and we are committed to embedding respect for human rights into everything we do as a club.

Our Commitment

We are guided by the principles of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Our commitments include:

  • Dignity and Respect: We treat every individual with dignity, regardless of who they are or where they come from.
  • Non-Discrimination: We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, or any other characteristic.
  • Child Rights: We are committed to protecting the rights of children and young people and ensuring their safe and positive participation in football.
  • Fair Labour Practices: We ensure that anyone engaged by or on behalf of the club — including volunteers and paid staff — is treated fairly and with respect.
  • Freedom of Expression: We support the right of members to express their views respectfully and to raise concerns without fear of retaliation.
  • Access and Inclusion: We work to remove barriers to participation and to make football accessible to all members of our community.

Applying These Principles

These principles are reflected across all of the club's policies, including our Diversity Policy, Child Protection Policy, Racial Equality Policy, and Code of Conduct. The committee is responsible for ensuring that human rights considerations are taken into account in club decisions and activities.

Raising Concerns

Any member who believes their human rights have been infringed, or who observes a human rights concern within the club, is encouraged to raise it with the Club Secretary or a committee member. The club will investigate all concerns seriously and confidentially.
