Governance Statement

Riverina Raptors FC is committed to operating as a transparent, accountable, and well-governed community football club. Good governance ensures that the club operates effectively, sustainably, and in the best interests of its members, players, and the broader community.

Legal Structure

Riverina Raptors FC is an incorporated association registered under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009 (NSW). The club operates in accordance with its Constitution and the rules of Football NSW and Football Australia.

Governing Body

The club is governed by an elected committee comprising:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • General Committee Members

Committee members are elected by financial members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is held once per year.

Decision Making

The committee meets regularly throughout the year to make decisions on club operations, finances, and strategy. Decisions are made by majority vote. All committee meetings are minuted, and minutes are made available to members upon request.

Financial Management

  • The club maintains accurate financial records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Financial accounts are reviewed or audited annually and presented to members at the AGM.
  • The Treasurer oversees the club's financial position and reports to the committee at each meeting.
  • All expenditure above a committee-approved threshold requires two signatories.

Member Rights

All financial members of the club have the right to attend the AGM, vote on resolutions, stand for election to the committee, and access the club's Constitution and meeting minutes. The club is committed to keeping members informed of significant developments through regular communication.

Continuous Improvement

The committee regularly reviews its governance practices and seeks to align with best practice guidance from Football NSW and Sport Australia's National Principles for Good Governance.
